MORE BIG THUNDER

All of a sudden about 10 minutes ago we started having lightening, thunder and rain. So far I have counted about 11 episodes of them. Papa had just finished reading to Mimi when it all started. Mimi practically came flying out of bed and into ours. Papa suggested that mama sings the song from "Sound of Music" called "My Favorite Things".

JAMMIES aka PJ'S

Move over Cinderella and Tinkerbell, there's a new girl in town and her name is Hannah Montana. Mimi has outgrown her Disney PJ's and she has grown almost 2 full inches since the begining of this year. She is now at the 3 feet and 1/2 inch mark as of today. She now weighs 38.5 lbs.

AND THEN WHAT?

Since school let out, mama tries to have something for Mimi to do everyday. On Mondays and Wednesdays it's swim lessons, on Tuesdays and Thursdays it's gymnastics. In between time it's the library where we continue to practice her homework that she did while she was in school, park or playdates, not much t.v.

Usually before Mimi goes to bed, mama will tell her the next day's schedule and Mimi will ALWAYS come back with "AND THEN WHAT?"

Mama: Tomorrow morning Mimi, we will meet with Erin and Liam at the library for storytelling.

Mimi: AND THEN WHAT?

Mama: We will go to the vet to get Ollie's prescription for his medication (Ollie takes Flovent for his asthma)

Mimi: AND THEN WHAT?

Mama: We will take drop it off at the Wal-Mart that is next to the vet.

Mimi: AND THEN WHAT?

Mama: We will go to Costco.

Mimi: WHY?

Mama:We need groceries like your juices, laundry detergent and so on.

Mimi:AND THEN WHAT?

Mama: Then it will be time to go to the swimming pool and me and you can swim together before you're class starts.

Mimi: AND THEN WHAT?

Mama: Then you have swim school.

Mimi: AND THEN WHAT?

Mama: Then we will go back to Wal-mart on the way home and pick up Ollie's medication.

Mimi:AND THEN WHAT?

Mama: NOTHING!!!

While at Costco, Mimi saw a outdoor playset similiar to the one that her friend Samantha has:

Mimi: Mama, look! Samantha has one of those (pointing to the playset).

Mama: Yes she does.

Mimi: WHY CAN'T I HAVE ONE? I WISH I HAD ONE TOO!!!

And the hits just keep on com'in! sigh

RELAXING IN MEXICO

Yesterday was "Beautification Day" for mama (hair and nail salon), Maya does mama's hair and sister Amy does her nails. Mama packs snacks for Mimi and she has a good time with the ladies at the salon. They adore Mimi and she adores them too.

By the time we got home it was already 3:00 p.m. and Erin had called for a playdate. So over to Erin's house we walked. Mimi and Erin just love playing with each other. Mama had a good time too with Janet. It is nice to have adult conversation sometimes. We stayed for a couple of hours then it was time to head home for dinner. I'm so happy that we don't have to drive and it only takes less than 5 minutes to walk to each other's home's.

When we arrived home Blake had called for Mimi to come over to his house. Our Mimi is quite the social butterfly. So mama popped the dinner into the toaster oven and got the gohan (rice) cooking and over to Blake's house we went. It is still hot and humid at 6:00 p.m. so therefore Mimi and Blake went to "Relax in Mexico" as they call it. Finally at 7:00 p.m. it was time to go home for dinner then bedtime.

MIMI'S FIRST CONCERT

Since the gas prices have been going up and up along with groceries and everything else, mama has been trying to find cheap summer fun things for us to do. Last Monday a husband and wife team gave a concert at our local library where they played mainly Scotch/Irish music with a little bit of folk music mixed in. Papa met with us there when he finished work. They were really quite good. Their music was very soothing to Mimi's ears that she fell asleep half way through the concert.

FIREWORKS AND BIG THUNDER

Unlike Southern California, up here in Washington it is still legal to buy fireworks. There are stands on just about every street corner there is. This past week many people have already started to celebrate the 4th of July by setting off their fireworks. Therefore when mama heard a big loud boom, she thought it was the firecrackers but noooo, we're having another thunderstorm and the themperature at this hour is still 80 degrees and the humidity is most likely at 100% now. Mama is just sweating as all get out. Should do real well for my skin complexion though. PHEW!
