JOHNNY ROCKETS

Movie was over, Blake went home with his mom and we girls were famished. So Johnny Rockets it was. Of course the girls had to drink the shakes before eating the food. That's the correct way of doing things.

I'VE GOT A SECRET, Pssssst.........

IT'S MOVIE TIME AGAIN

This time it was Karate Kid only I think it should be called Kung Fu Kid or somewhere along the line as they are doing Kung Fu. Duh! Big difference ya know! It was a pretty good movie. A little bit above the kids heads though. I think it was made for kids just a bit older than Mimi and her friends. We took up the whole row. There were a total 7 kids plus Keri and I. The 3 older kids, Savannah, Bubba & friend loved it while Mimi, Blake and Halliwell did not care for it much. Bailey doesn't count as she was enjoying herself going up and down the aisle eating everyone's snacks.

ALL IN THE FAMILY

You guessed it. All of Sara's family came to cheer her on. You can't see him, but great grandpa is sitting at the end of the row. Next is great grandma (white hair), then her mom Daphne, grandma Diane, big sis Tasha. Then of course there is Mimi and Elsie.

DANCE RECITAL

When the movie was done, we had just enough time to drop Rhonda and Emma off at their house, stop by our house to take care of Butch and Stanley and grab a bite to eat before heading over to the high school for Sara's dance recital.

Another good friend of ours, Joselito, owns his own dance studio down in Kent. It is called Southside Dance Force. Joselito had shared with us that he has been dancing for soooooo many years as a professional dancer and that he just got so tired of the rat race in the dance competitions that he just wanted to start his own school. He wanted to have his students freely express themselves without anyone telling them that they needed to look a certain way or dance a certain way.
It was really refreshing to see the show where there was a potpourri of everything from ballet to jazz to hip hop to modern to river dance and country. There also people both male and female from young to old and shapes of all sizes performing.
You may have already guessed that Sara is one of his students.

TOY STORY 3

Earlier this month Rhonda finally sold their old house and purchased a new house. Both houses were/are in Maple Valley. The old place has a humongous lot (about 3x's the size of ours) with a small house. The new digs has a small lot (about the same as ours) with a big house. Compared to our place, our house is slightly smaller than hers with a bigger backyard. Rhonda wanted to move mainly because taking care of the yard was a tremendous amount of work for a single working mom who is at the gym majority of the time with her two girls.

To break up the monotony of unpacking and plus Mimi and Elsie had been dying to spend some time together, we thought that we would all go to the movies together.

After a huge breakfast at Black Diamond Bakery, we headed over to Rhonda's place where she gave us the grand tour of their new home. Elsie could not wait to show Mimi her new room. Both girls have their own rooms now which makes them very happy.

Ever the 9 year old, Emma still loathes being seen with Mimi and Elsie. She still feels that she is way to dignified to be associated with these 7 year old girls whenever they get together.

A PRESENT FOR DAD MAYBE???

Saw this in the window on our way back to the train station. Also we passed by a Brazilian cafe called Impanema's. Must check that place out on my next visit to the city. I really do miss Brazil Cafe back in California. I must say that downtown Seattle has a gazillion of great hole in the wall places to eat.

As we were going back to the station, believe it or not, Mimi said that her legs were getting tired. Mind you, downtown Seattle is quite hilly, so we thought that it would be a great idea to stop into a Italian coffee shop for some gelato. Besides Starbucks, there a quite a few of these great little Italian coffee shops filled with coffee, gelato, really cute mini cupcakes and chocolates. Seattlelites really love their coffee. Unfortunately I am not a coffee drinker. I enjoy the teas myself.

BEFORE AND AFTER

After visiting the Aquarium, we really worked up an appetite with all of the walking we did going from the Westlake Center and through Pike Place Market and the Aquarium itself. That was when it was time to head over to Elliott Bay Oysters. Instead of oysters, Mimi had not one but TWO adult servings of the Manila Clams and sucked those babies down in about 20 minutes. I myself had salmon strips and chips. It was just really nice to sit outside on the pier near the ocean or should I say the Puget Sound, but that is the closest I'm going to get to the ocean. Take it or leave it. I'll take it.
