DINNER AT LA FOGATA

When all was said and done. Several of our team families headed over to La Fogata here in Maple Valley for dinner. Clockwise is Mimi, Elsie, Anaya and Emma.

TEAM AWARDS

Because Summit Gym teaches the girls and boys about team spirit, you will see all of the team members that competed yesterday and today recieving their award. The majority of the members from the other teams left as soon as they were done competing. Therefore there was only a handful of their team members attending the team awards.

STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Yesterday and today was the State Championships that was held in a nearby town of Renton. Only about a 20-30 minute drive from our house. Yesterday it was the big girls turn to compete and this morning it was the younger girls turn.

Normally Mimi wakes up at the crack of dawn but this morning she absolutely did not want to get out of bed. I admit that it was my fault this time. Yesterday she had school and then we went to the community center to give our support to her team mates. It was not required but highly recommended as her gym teaches team support. We only stayed for an hour till we went to Sara's house. Next thing I know it's 10:00 pm. HOLY CRAP! Therefore Mimi went to bed waaaay past her bedtime. Naturally she woke up grumpy as all get out.

"Do we have to go today? Can't we go next week?" the girl cried. The saga went on....."My leo is too tight" she cried some more. I had already talked to Debbie (team owner) about this situation. The thing about it is Mimi hates to wear tight clothing. Too binding I guess. The rules of the gym is that the leos are to fit rather snug so that when the girls do their routine, no private parts are showing.

We talked about it as we were getting ready. As I was not quite ready in time, I had Mimi and dad go ahead of me. On the way Mimi called to say she was feeling much better. Thank goodness she does not hold onto negative feelings long.

Long story short, she had a very good meet today. The last time she competed she did not get a medal only ribbons and was quite disappointed. We had a long talk about that one too. Today she recieved two medals and was quite pleased with herself. So am I. She has been working very hard to get those medals.
