FAMILY NIGHT

Tonight was spent watching a couple of Christmas videos. Something we enjoy doing during this particular season. Blake made a suggestion to Mimi and have all the kids write their names on her cast in green to keep up with the Holiday spirit.
The doc says that I need to rest my arm as much as possible.......yeah right. Kinda hard to do when we have a 7-8 year old at home who although has a cast is crawling or hopping around the house in between summersaults and jumping on the bed even with her cast on. EGADS!!!
Did I forget to mention that I caught the child getting ready to slide down the banister tonight??? Cast and all......."but mom it's easier going down the stairs this way!" says the girl.

POTLATCH PARTY

This past month Mimi's class has been studyingg about life of the pioneer. The scheduled potlatch party was to be last week but since we had the bad snowstorm it was re-scheduled for today.

FESTIVAL OF THE TREES

Last night was Providence Hospital annual fundraiser called "Festival Of The Trees". Mimi was excited because she got to have a sleepover at Blake's house.

HER BROKEN LEG

The saga really started when I broke my arm, then Mimi went on to break her leg on black Friday at the Westlake Center. This past Tuesday I went to the urgent care in Covington to see if I could get a copy of her x-rays before we were to see the doctor or Thursday. I was told that the x-rays were at the Valley Hospital and that I would have to go there to get them.
Wednesday came and I planned to go to the hospital and pick up the x-rays, take Mimi pants to grandma's house (across from the hospital) so that she could alter Mimi new velour pants and then head over to South Center's Men's Wearhouse for dad's rental tux. Things started to head south. On my way to the hospital I received a call from the Diagnostic Imaging Center that a courier had come to pick up Mimi's x-ray's and sent them to the urgent care back in Covington. OK, if anyone knows me I hate being sent on a wild goose chase. It's bad enough chasing after Butch. I then drop the pants off and headed over to the Wearshouse for the tux. They did not have it. They were in the process of tracking it down. ARGH!!! By this time I was famished. Stopped by Sushiland for some yummy sushi. By this time I had calmed down and was getting ready to go back to urgent care. Mind you it's about 20 miles from my house to the hospital andsouth Center, another 20 miles to urgent care in Covington. This is also the furthest I have driven since breaking my arm. It was swelling up in the cast and starting to feel achy. I get to urgent care and the x-rays are NOT THERE!!! Double ARGH!!! I was told that they were at the hospital! By this time it was 2:30 pm and I had to get home in order to pick up Mimi from school. Needless to say I was not happy with the way the medical systems was running and I let everyone in the urgent care know it.
Finally Thursday arrived, dad drove us to the doctor's with x-rays is hand. What looks like a break to me actually is bone growth so I can't really see it but the doc says it is a small break for sure and that she will have to wear the cast for one month.
