THE TOOTH FAIRY COMETH.....

One of the very few times a dad will make himself look silly for the love of his daughter. However he absolutely refused to wear a tutu and ballerina shoes. I guess we have to take what we can get.

SNOWFIGHT WITH BUTCH

After school Zoe came over to the house and she and Mimi love to just run - a - muck and I don't mind at all. The thing I do mind however is when I find myself saying things over and over to Mimi and just plain talking to myself afterward. Both Mimi and Zoe are really into Disney's "High School" musical. That's all they ever talk about. When Zoe left for home, Mimi still had energy to burn so she and Butch went out back and had a snowball fight amongst themselves. Of course Butch loves eating the snow as much as Mimi does. We must have gotten a couple of inches of snow between yesterday and today. It worked out great for Butch too. He is still in the playing stage of his life and he really hates it when no one plays with him at least once or twice a day.

TIME OUT

Come this Friday is my actual day to volunteer in Mimi's class. Due to the fact that our good friend Maggi is coming up to Portland, we are going on a mini vacation to go down to see her. We will be leaving on Thursday night and come back home on Sunday evening. We are also planning to see dad's old schoolboy chum Tom and his family also. Because of our last minute outing, I had to find another mom to trade with. As it turns out, today was Keri's turn but little Bailey was giving her a hard time and she asked to trade days with me. Woo Hoo I said. So I went back to school to volunteer at the end of Mimi's class.

Of course Mimi was quite pleased to see me and so were her friends Halliwell and Zoe. Both of the girls always gives me hugs when I see them. They are just the sweetest little things. It's kinda fun doing things for the teacher in the back room while listening to the kids do their work. Next thing I knew it was recess. It was snowing in droves but still the kids were allowed to play outside as long as they were bundled up. There were a few who chose to stay indoors though. Mimi of course chose outside. I then went to see how she plays with her classmates and to my surprise I found her sitting on the bench with a long, sad face. We went inside to have a talk. What Mimi had said to me was that she caught another girl by the name of Hannah, choking Zoe and Mimi went to pull her off Zoe. All the recess teacher saw was Mimi pulling Hannah off of Zoe and put Mimi in time out. I then told Mimi to talk with her teacher who in turn had her talk with the recess teacher. Mimi then very proudly came back into the classroom to tell me that she told the truth. As soon as the kids came back in from recess, I could hear the teacher talking to the kids about this particular incident and how important that it is to keep one's hand to themselves. I guess you could consider this one of life's little lessons. Of course I had to share this story with Shelley. I believe that every mom is the heart of their home and this is the kind of thing that I would like to know in case someone was trying to choke Mimi even if it was "just playing" as Zoe told me after school.

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS MY TWO FRONT TEETH.......

Zoe lost her front teeth a while back. Mimi lost hers this afternoon before school, two teeth, all in one shot. Her bottom left tooth has been loose for quite some time but she was too afraid to loosen it even more. As a result her permanent tooth is already starting to come through and had nowhere to go. Therefore we made a trip to see Dr. R. before school and since the other tooth was loose also, he pulled both of them out. In order to do so he gave Mimi a shot of novacaine and she did not even flinch a bit. What a trooper she is but on the other hand, go figure. It did not hurt when the dentist gave her a shot but she cried like @#$ when I tried to wiggle it out. I guess that he just has that special touch. Mimi now sounds a lot like Mom's Mabley for those of us old enough to remember. She was a toothless comedian back in the 60's and I would just howl whenever I saw her on tv.
