Uh Oh! Blake now has some competition. Alex seems to be moving in his girl. A while back Katrina (Alex's mom) shared a story with me. It seems that Halliwell and her mom Brandy went over to their house and the kids played while the moms visited with each other.
Apparently this was the conversation between Alex and Halliwell:
Alex: Halliwell, do you wanna play Star Wars?
Halliwell: Nah.
Alex: Do you wanna play legos?
Halliwell: Nah.
Alex: Do you wanna play with race cars?
Halliwell: Nah. Alex, do you wanna play PRINCESS AND DRESS UP????
I'm sure you all can guess where this pladate led too. Later on Alex tells his mom that he likes playing with Mimi a whole lot better.
Then the other day somehow the discussion between Mimi and I led to what exactly "blood reletions". Oh now I remember. Mimi said "Mom, Auntie Setsue and Uncle David are Putney's aren't they?" That's how it started. Then I tried to think of how to explain blood relations on her level to where she could understand it.
Mom: Mimi, just pretend that you are married to Blake.
Mimi: But mom, at first I wanted to marry Blake, but he is married to someone else. I wanna marry Alex. He plays much nicer than Blake does.
When I mentioned this to Katrina the other day that she may have an addition to the family since Mimi wants to marry Alex, Katrina says "I would love to have a girl in the family (as she has 2 boys, Alex and his baby brother Nate). Without skipping a beat Alex pipes up "ME TOO!"
Rumor has it that Alex wants to trade his brother Nate in for a sister. Such is the life of a 6 year old and yes, that is Butch walking with us to school this morning and he is on a leash only you can barely see it.
And no our Ollie has not returned home yet however it has sparked a few deep discussions of life and death with Mimi and her friends. Of course I try to keep it on the level to where they could understand.
It was kind of hard getting a picture of Alex's face as he is tall and I was trying to hold onto a physically strong Pug and also strong willed. I must say that Butch is in the right family of strong wills and very spirited people.
