Tonight we had dinner with our new friends Toshiko, her husband Mark and their two daughters Julia (right) and Michelle (high chair),They are friends of papa's brother David and his wife Setsue when they were all living in Virginia. David and Setsue still live in Virginia.
When we moved up here to Washington, Setsue had given mama Toshiko's phone number and asked mama to give her a call since Toshiko had just moved up here at the same time. Mama called and called but never got an answer. Then lo and behold, we met by accident last Friday at the indoor gym where Mimi goes to on rainy days! We wanted to get together last week, but Toshiko and Mark had other plans and could not come to the house. So again, mama and Mimi met with Toshiko yesterday at the indoor gym. This time we were able to get together for Sukiyaki dinner at Mimi's house. It was delicious!!!
Toshiko and her family live less than 5 minutes from us. Their daughter Julia goes to the elementary school behind our house. It is the same school that Mimi will go to next year.
We will definitely be getting together more often for playdates and such. A very good time was had by all. Papa was especially happy when he found out that Mark is also a Grateful Dead head too.
