EMILY AND MIMI

This is Nathan's little sister Emily. She is 19 months old and sooooo reminds of Mimi at that age. Mimi was 19 months when we were in China to receive her and Emily looks so much like Mimi back then. Emily has just as much energy as Mimi did and still does. Emily likes to climb everything too just like Mimi. Most of all she loved the rides. That little girl is quite daring which is kind of scary.

REMLINGER FARMS

It's a place where a kid can be a kid. So far this year Mimi has been there twice. Once with Emma and Elsie this past summer and again yesterday with Nathan and his family.

Yesterday was the perfect time to go. The weather was t-shirt weather but cool enough so you don't get over heated. We arrived there about 2 in the afternoon which was great because most of the families with the wee little ones have already gone home so it was not crowded at all. No waiting in lines which is always the best part.

SATURDAY MORNING FUN

The weather was puuurrrrrfect this past Saturday morning. The temperature is starting to cool down a bit, but it was still nice enough for the kids to play outside before Nathan and his family arrived.

Dad fixed the seat on Mimi's new bike by lowering it so she can touch the ground. She's getting better at it but still prefers the scooter.

PAPER JAMZ

This seems to be the latest craze with Blake. He says that this is what he would like to get at Christmas time and usually whatever Blake has, Mimi would like to have also.

Was at Walmart yesterday for some grocery items and I saw this on display. I just cannot see Santa bringing this for Mimi this Christmas. I refuse to pay $14.00 for the speaker and $25.00 for the guitar that are both made out of CARDBOARD! That is plain out and out highway robbery unless there is something say a piece of expensive jewelry, perfume, shoes or purse that comes with it.

I am pretty sure that I can truthfully say that Santa's bag is going to be a little thin this year for Mimi as he has decided to give her other presents instead such as piano lessons, gymnastics, a trip to Calif. this past summer, staycations such as Remlinger Farms this past summer with Elsie and Emma, plus we are going there again tomorrow with Nathan and his family. Then there are the movies. Then again there is the biggest present of all that will be coming next year and that is our trip to China to go get her little sis Mei Mei.

LOOK MA NO HANDS!

Tonight the weather was absolutely great for playing in the street. I
love our September weather.

While I was at our PTSA meeting, Mimi, Shad and the rest of the gang
was outside riding their bikes outside. Tonight was the first time she
rode her bike AND scooter without any problem whatsoever. Way to go
Mimi!!!!

SECOND GRADE

For the most part Mimi is enjoying this year. However the part she really dreads is the homework. Can you blame the child? As she has said before her favorite subject is PLAY.

Yesterday was my first day to volunteer in the classroom. I really don't think we pay our teachers enough money for all of the work they do.

There are 24 kids in Mimi's class. Half of them I know from last year class and some are from our neighborhood such as Blake, Olivia and Rachel.

School now is sooooooo much different than when I went to school and now I am having a little hard time trying to figure things out. The grading system is so much different.

Mimi's teacher Ms. Davidson really emphasizes reading and math. Every Tuesday and Thursday there is a minute math test and every Friday is a spelling test. Mimi is on the-2's. It is all review work now. I think Blake told me that if the kids get up to the -3's by the end of October (?) , they will get a 3 on their report card. He said that the teacher does not give out 4's.

Maybe later on in the year she will give out the 4's. Will have to check this out. Anyhoo, parent/teacher conferences will be coming up soon so I can ask then.

MORE LOST TEETH FOR ELSIE

Seems like everytime we see Elsie, she has lost another tooth. Looks like she went 10 rounds with a boxer. In the meantime, Mimi is trying to hold on to hers.
