BENEFITS
Although there is absolutely nothing wrong with having mulitple kids in the family, there however are benefits to having just one child. At least that is what mom found out this morning while talking on the phone with Keri. Next week Mimi's school is planning an outing to the Seattle Children's Museum providing that the weather co-operates. Keri and Shelley have other children that need to be taken care of so they will not be able to chaparone the kindergarten class like mom is able to do at this time. Shelley has to take Braden to his pre-school Christmas program and Keri needs to figure out something for Bailey. Wade (Bailey and Blake's dad) will be home that day but the problem is Bailey is at the age (2yo) where she wants to be with her mom all the time and not dad. Greg says "Poor dads, we always get the shaft". I remember when Mimi was at that age and she was exactly the same as Bailey. Now it's mom who gets the shaft at times cuz Mimi really enjoys doing things with her dad. In fact they are outside now building a snowman together in the front lawn. I guess it goes in stages. Don't know what all of my other mom friends are going to do as they too have other smaller kids. We are part of a very small minority in our neighborhood with the one child.
SNOW FALLING ON CEDARS.........

Mom woke up at 7:30 this morning to find our neighborhood is covered in a blanket of snow. It got so cold last night that my outdoor waterpond actually froze over. Now a 8:44, the sun is out and the snow will most likely melt. The weatherman says that today our high will be 27 (top number is inside, bottom is outside) degrees ( and the snow will turn to ice. So therefore drivers are to beware of icey roads. Many cars have slid off the roads already. I think that although we had planned to go out today, I will stay home instead. Don't want to chance the icey roads. Instead Mimi and dad are going outside after breakfast and make a snowman. Mimi is quite excited about that.

ANOTHER HAIR CATASTROPHE

MORE SNOW IN WASHINGTON

After the party mom and Mimi stopped by to see grandma and grandpa for a short while before heading home. Soon as we arrived home Mimi went to change into her snow clothes and could not wait to have a snowball fight with dad. A little later mom and Mimi went to the school ground to play in the snow and making snow angels
ALEX'S 6TH BIRTHDAY PARTY

After the hair crisis at the house, mom and Mimi scooted over to our local McDonald Playland for Alex's birthday party. If you want to have a party for your child and don't want it to be at your house, the playland is a great place to have it especially when one's birthday is in the winter months and it is cold and rainy outside but in our case snowing. All of the kids had loads and loads of fun. Unfortunately Blake had a nasty cough today and stayed at home.

SNOWFALLING IN WASHINGTON

The weatherman was right. It started snowing (mixed with rain) this evening around 8:00 p.m. and it is still coming down at this hour. Only now it is just the snow. Butch is not quite sure what to make of it since he has never seen snow before. Mom called Brandy to have her tell Halle about it since they too moved up here from the O.C. in Southern California this past September. Next thing mom saw was Brandy outside taking pictures too. Mimi is quite ecstatic about the whole ordeal and cannot wait to go outside to play in it tommorrow.
KUNG FU PANDA

Tomorrow is Zoe's 5th birthday but we celebrated it today since there was a early release day at school and Mimi's kindergarten class was able to stay home. Shelley had a small pizza party for Zoe at the house and afterward they all decorated their own cupcakes. There was a houseful of kids. There was Zoe, Blake, Mimi, Alex, Halle, Erin, Olivia, and their siblings Bailey, Braden, Nate, Liam and Patrick. The kids all had loads of fun together.
When all was said and done, Mimi stayed at Zoe's while mom went back to Costco for more Christmas decorations. Mom absolutely loves having a Costco close to our home nowadays.
Then it came time to pick Mimi and Blake up from Zoe's and bring them home. Zoe was wanting to come over to the house also and so she did. While the kids were playing Kung Fu Panda warriors (Zoe=tigress, Mimi=monkey, Blake=master shifu), mom was outside hooking up our generator. The weatherman says that we are in for a wind and rainstorm tonight and mom does not feel like going out in the dark to hook it up in case the power goes out like it did last Sunday. We are expected to have snow tommorrow and Sunday. "Woo Hoo!!!" says Mimi.
