SUMMER OLYMPICS

The summer olympics is finally here and mama has been way too busy staying
practically glued to the tv watching all of her favorite events such as swimming, gymnastics and volleyball. Mama may even try watching the women's weight lifting as there is one team member from Bonney Lake Washington which is not far from where we live.

HEAT RASH

Mama is very well endowed with large breasts. Sometimes it is a fortunate thing but then again sometimes not. One of the draw backs is one can get heat rash under them and boy is it painful!!! Holy Crap!!! Besides having a sprained left thumb and a nice size bruise on her right posterior knee, she now is sporting a heat rash under her right breast and is it painful especially when showering. Mama looks as though she has gone to war and back. Fortunately she has some Calmoseptine (pasty Calomine lotion with zinc). Last night after bathing mama put some Calmoseptine on the rash then thought of putting a soft cloth there to cover but could not find any. Then mama found one of Mimi's clean panties and thought to herself hmmmmm???? I wonder???? And lo and behold! It fit just right on mama's right boob!!! Nice and snug too and does not cause any irritation. This morning when Mimi came into mama's bed, she saw it and snatched it off saying "Hey! That's MINE!" Oh well at least it is getting better. Sorry there are no pictures folks. Papa sure got a good laugh about it this morning before going to work.

SOUVENIOURS

These are several of Mimi's presents from this camping trip. The whistle came from our dining car dinner and believe it or not it really does sound like a honest to goodness train whistle! Mimi fooled a couple of people outside in the parking lot with it.
We have now aquired a family of foxes to add to the menagerie of stuffed animals that Mimi has collected from day one. Pictured here is mama fox along with her babies Icky and Ricky. Who knows where Mimi has come up with these names. Mama tried to get Mimi to change the names to no avail. Oh well what can I say?

CAMP OHANAPECOSH

This picture was taken last Friday on our first hike at Paradise just on the other side of Mount Rainier. Together with Mimi is David and Ben (silly face). They are posing inside a hollow tree that had fallen on its side.

MIMI AND HER "OBACHAN" GRANDMA

Mimi slept a full 3 hours yesterday afternoon. Boy was she hungry when she woke up for dinner but that is a contradiction in itself. It's funny how life plays out sometimes. Even though she came to us through the adoption pathway of life, we definitely have connections from our previous past lifetimes. In almost identical ways I can see a lot of my mom in her. Mimi and her grandma share a lot of the same characteristics. They both are petite is size, have a hot temper like fire that flares up quickly then dies down just as fast, very loving (Mimi loves giving out hugs and kisses by the bucketfull), sense of humor that is sooooooo funny and hillarious to all those around her, LOVES BOOKS, hopelessly generous and willing to share anything they have except for food. Mimi had to give that one a second thought when she and Samantha got married a couple of months ago.

MORE SUMMER FUN

Our day started off with swimming lessons then a trip to the library for our weekly date with Erin and her family. We were planning to go on a picnic afterwards but Janet said that the park she was planning to take us to does not have any shade and man oh man is it hot up here today. We also have an overcast of clouds too which makes it humid also.

Therefore after the library mama and Mimi did some grocery shopping before coming home eating out sushi in the car. This afternoon Mimi went over to Erin's house for a while to play in the wading pool while mama played with her new gadget/toy (pool vacuum) cleanning out our pool. Before we knew it, it was 2:30 p.m. YIKES! Where does the time go nowadays. Mimi came home and she and Blake played in the pool for a while.

Then it was time to go over to the park. A new playset is being installed as we speak. The kids are just real thrilled about it and cannot wait to play on it. In the meantime Mimi was becoming increasingly grumpy. Mama knew that Mimi was not feeling well but at the same time she absolutely hates to miss out on any fun just like the rest of us. Mimi still takes naps now and then. Today was one of those days. Boy did she raise a ruckus all the way home. "I AM NOT TIRED!!!" says Mimi. Then when mama put her to bed she yells "STOP SINGING!!! I WANT NOTHING!!!" Mimi is definitly one Chengdu Chili Pepper and I love it. She kind of spices things up for us. Mama asked if she was tired and the answer was you guessed it "NO!" Then mama asked if she was mad, again the answer was "NO!" By this time mama knew that Mimi was absolutely tired and most likely not feeling well. So she was able to get Mimi to calm down and go to sleep. Mimi has been asleep for the past hour or so. We were planning to go back to the library to hear a free concert that has a pirate theme to it. Right up Mimi's alley, but at this point I don't think we are going to make it. Oh well que sera sera.

SUMMER FUN

Now that we are back from camping it is back the daily routine again. Tomorrow Mimi and mama will go to the Aquatic Center for her early morning swimming lessons. This time Mimi has a male teacher and there are 4 kids in the class. Mimi is the only girl in her class. Today mama noticed that the teacher was not giving Mimi the same amount of attention as he did with the boys. The teacher did not pay any attention to Mimi and seemed to just focus on the boys. I don't think it was intentional though. I do however notice that the boys tend to get more attention in any class than the girls. Should this happen again tomorrow mama will make mention of it.

After swimming lessons tomorrow we will head over to the library for our weekly date with Erin and her family. The kids just love storytelling. Then afterward we will go to a local park for a picnic lunch. That should be loads of fun.
