SHOPAHOLIC

Mimi's fashion clothing is still jeans and t-shirt, Lightening McQueen or Sponge Bob to be exact. Due to her friends Maggi, Erin and Samantha all that is slowly changing. Maggi got her hooked on shopping at Nordstroms, Erin and Samantha are having an influence on getting her to wear more dresses other than the one and only dress she has that is until this afternoon.

Tomorrow is Mimi and Blake's graduation. She is all hyped up about it. Over and over she asks if Blake will look handsome and she will look pretty. I tell her that Keri always has Blake looking good and Mimi will go to the hairdresser tomorrow and Christine will have her looking pretty.

This afternoon mama asked Mimi if she wanted to wear a nice pant outfit or dress tomorrow. The girl answered DRESS! OMG!!! Mama decided that we would try the Bellevue Nordstrom since we have yet to go there. Mama did not find it that imprssive. It was ok though. We were able to get a couple of nice dresses for tomorrow's celebration and this coming summer. When mama finished paying for the items, she looked down to find the Nordstrom bag and Mimi missing. The girl was already heading for the shoe dept. with the bag in hand saying C'mon mom!

When all was said and done, we headed over to the Whole Foods Market. Mama just loves that market. Unfortunately there is none close to our home. Whoever said that little girls are dainty eaters have not met our Mimi. Mimi ate breakfast and lunch at home, after gymnastic class she had a snack in the car. Upon arriving at Nordstrom she was hungry again. Unfortunately the Bellevue Plaza does not have a food court, only restaurants. Mama bought her some sushi while shopping at Whole Foods. When we arrived home she ate again. I never saw a kid who could eat so much and stay so tiny. She must be going through a growth spurt now. Normally she eats quite a bit but every 4-6 months she seems to eat a whole lot more than usual. EGADS!!!

WILD WEATHER

I thought that we were supposed to be having warm weather in June. NOT!!! When our good friends Allyn, Teri and Samantha went home to Southern California I swear they took the sunshine with them. Those little stinkers! While they were here the weather was gorgeous and I tell you the day after they left our weather started going downhill pretty darn fast.

Yesterday we experienced it all. Here in western Washington we had strong winds that knocked out the power lines (about 70,000 homes without power), it also uprooted trees, we also had rain, hail and even snow up in Snoqualamie (?) Pass. EGADS!!!

MANY SIDES OF MIMI

Lately Mimi has been wanting to fix her hair so that she can look pretty. I have trying to copy the hairstyles that I find on http://shedoeshair.blogspot.com/ . There is one problem tho, Mimi has a cowlick right smack dab in the middle of the back of her head and very fine, short hair. I usually end up by putting quite a bit of goop on it to keep the fly away hair from flying away.
This coming Wednesday will be her Graduation Day from pre-school. YIPPEEEEEEEE!!!!!! No more payments made for school or childcare!!! Woo Hoo!!! That is until the next one comes along. In the morning mama will take Mimi over to the beauty shop to have Christine fix her hair real pretty. Then we will go over to pick up grandma and grandpa and head over to the Lake Wilderness for the ceremony.
According to the teacher, Mimi's "boyfriend" Blake is so excited that the two of them will be graduating together. Maybe when everything is over, we will take the kids to Chuckee Cheese's to celebrate. Don't quite know yet.

MIMI AND SHIRLEY aka LING LING

Today started off with Mimi going to try out for the Summit Gymnastic Team for 5 year olds. I think she did pretty good. We will not find out the results till after the 20th of this month. When I asked the coach how Mimi did after all the tests were done, I was told that Mimi had a little trouble staying still. Like I did not know that already. On the other hand we had been there for 3 full hours while they tested all the girls on their skills. If she does not make the team it does not matter. She still has fun going to the classes and that is all that is important.
When we were done, we met papa at the new Mongolian Grill that just opened up a couple of weeks ago. It was pretty good. We then picked up Blake and went to see Kung Fu Panda. The kids seemed to like it. The movie seemed to have more adult humor than kids I think.
In the evening Ling Ling came over with her mom May and friend Tasha. The girls had a blast listening to the music dvd that was made by Martin and given to us the last we were in China in the process of adopting Mimi. Pictured here are the girls enjoying a bread and jelly snack that they had made themselves. Of course Mimi still loves wearing that glow in the dark ball cap.
At this hour, mama is ready to shower and fall into bed.

GONE FISH'IN

Until a couple of years ago grandpa and grandma spent quite a bit of time fishing up in Alaska. It was something that they dearly loved. We loved it too as did some of our closest friends because grandma would always give us fresh salmon that they would catch.

When it came time for grandpa's birthday, Mimi and mama decided to give grandpa this toy fishing game. This is a picture of the mini fishing game. We gave grandpa a much bigger one. When Mimi and mama stopped by for a short visit yesterday, Mimi had a grand time showing grandpa how this game is played. They could have played for hours if mama let them.

GOT AIRLINE?????

Mama found this story on the internet and had a good laugh to herself.
