SLOW BOAT TO CHINA

That's the cruise the Putney family is taking these past SEVERAL YEARS. To add to the pile of stuff that is going on in my life right now, you know..... rain/windy weather, the crazy phone call about how my brother is dead, breaking an arm and a leg, and this is not to mention the crazy hectic life I already have with an almost 8 year old who has a super abundance of energy and who just simply can't wait for Christmas to come so much so that almost everything in her brain has gone out of the window, we get a e-mail from our home study guy Mike at 10:00 pm Sunday night stating that he needs some paperwork from us in order to complete our home study. The man came to see us way BEFORE Halloween and he is just now getting around to completing our home study by asking us to fax over more paperwork?! Lisa (Nathan's mom) said he is slow as they have the same guy for their kids but DANG ! I sometimes wonder if we will ever get to China. I think I can hear the Le Creme wine calling me. I think I will go answer it.

ANXIOUS

Mimi is so very anxious to get her cast off this Thursday that she could scream. She says that it is going to be a Christmas present to herself. May take her to see Yogi Bear afterwards to celebrate. I am so ready for it to come off too. That child (despite my warnings) is running everywhere in the house. I caught her jumping too. She soooooo needs to get back into the gym ASAP!!!

AFTER SCHOOL PLAYDATE

This is a short week for Mimi. Short school days as well. Because of the snow we had in the beginning of the month, there was no school which in turn meant no school conferences. So this week is conference time for the majority of the students.
I enjoy it when Mimi's friends come to play mainly because they keep her entertained for the afternoon so that I can get things done such as ......laundry and so on and so forth. Both she and Rachel had loads of fun playing with Butch and the laser light. There was tons of laughter everywhere.

BAKING COOKIES

Since talking the doctor into taking the cast off, I have been feeling so much better and in the holiday spirit as usual. My wrist is about 80% healed and I still wear a wrist brace instead of a cast.

Today was spent baking for me and movie going for Mimi. Blake called and the two of them went to see "Tangled" to which Mimi says she liked it a lot. After coming home she helped to decorate several cookies before peetering out on me.

272 IT'S WHATCHA WANT

That is the name of the place where we went to have brunch today. There is nothing like sipping hot chocolate and reading the funnies to start your Saturday off on the right foot.
The main topic of conversation among the patrons was last nights wind storm and how much damage it did. There were toppled trees all over the place. Many people lost power. Over at our Red Robins, the power was out. Many people either lost their homes or had damage done to their house. Rhonda says that they lost several shingles off the roof of their fairly new home. So for many people today it was spent repairing the damage because more rain is expected to come.

ONE WILD AND CRAZY MONTH

Let's see.......where to begin??? I guess I should start from the beginning. First I broke my wrist. Second Mimi broke her leg. Cast should be coming off next Thursday. We had the wild blizzard like conditions for a couple of days. Last week Mimi got called into the Principal's office then she went totally to the other side of the spectrum and recieved a blue ribbon.

Also last week, I received a strange phone call from a lawyer's office from San Diego. He says his name is Jerry ..... and he is looking for Greg Putney. I said that he is at work and could I take a message. To which Jerry says "Well, I am looking for Greg Putney because he is the father of James Olson (my little bro) and James DIED." " WHAT ???!!!" I was hysterical! "MY BROTHER DIED ?!" "You're talking about James? My younger brother the one I just saw this past summer?" Jerry says "Yeah, he died 2 years ago" "What? No, no, no, that was my dad. Let me set you straight. Greg Putney is my husband, James is my younger brother and the man who died 2 years ago is my dad (you idiot)" I said to him. "Besides, what is this all about anyways?" I asked. To which he replied "It's confidential". Click and hung up the phone. I was at least able to get his name and number and dad took care of the rest.

Now we are having the wild winds. This video was taken this morning. For the past couple of days it has been quite clear and beautiful till the winds kicked up last night. Our neighboring town of Enumclaw made it onto the King 5 news stating that they were getting up to 60mph winds which means we were getting about the same since we live in the wind path of Mt. Rainier. I must also mention that our neighbors Jess and Scott who live just 5 houses from us had their kitchen window knocked out with the last wind storm and with this windstorm it was the glass on their patio door. Jess said it cost them $350.00 to replace it. We've been quite lucky so far.

Phew! Then there was WWIII at our house last night. I called dad to warn him about the rough waters at home and that he may want to take his time. Long story short the theme of WWIII is called "The Battle of the Wills". Today the girl is sweet as cherry pie or coconut cream pie in my case.

I tell you, it is never ever dull around our house and I love it!

COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTOR

That is what the blue ribbon says. She came home all excited about it
today. Completely different than the other day when she was sent to
the principals office for saying to Grant her classmate that he was
stupid two days in a row. I was flabbergasted when I found out. Ms
Davidson said that Mimi cried all the way to the office and it took
some time for her to gain her composure. She had a nice long talk with
the principal and we had a nice long talk when we got home home. "But
mom, I didn't say he was stupid, I said he was not smart." Same thing
I told her. As her consequence, I had her write a letter of apology to
him and give him one of her toys. I saw Grant after this incident and
he was beaming from ear to ear as he had received Mimi's letter and
stuffed animal. Then I said to him "so did you kiss and make up?" To
which Grant looked at me like WHUT???? Don't know why I said it, it
just slipped out.
