HALLOWEEN

Yep, I'm guilty as charged. I raided Mimi's Halloween candy jar. I'm
very fortunate that Mimi does not like chocolate much except for s
little hot cocoa.

PAC ISLAND GRILL

About two weeks ago I met a lovely lady who is from Hawaii originally
and we really hit it off. Her name is Eileen and she lives with her
family on the other sideof the highway from us.

We made plans for lunch yesterday where she told me about a really
good Hawaiian place and it was. Mmm, mmm, mmm, yu-ummy. I really liked
the Hawaiian ice tea also.

Turns out that Eileen knows my other friend/neighbor Elizabeth who's
son Adam was in Mimi's gymnastic class this past year. I tell you,
small town.

ONLINE STORIES FOR KIDS

So sorry Allyn. With all that is going on these days I am doing good just to remember my name. I'll be happy to share with anyone and everyone. Please don't hesistate to ask.

Ms. Greenfield (Mimi's teacher) has her own website and here is what she suggests: http://www.storylineonline.net/ , http://www.raz-kids.com/ , http://www.seusville.com/ , http://starfall.com/

I think that she also put up a math website but will have to tell you about that one at a later date as someone by the name of NAOMI has taken over MY COMPUTER!!! She says that the computer is hers now. The little wretched thief.

Don't know about anyone else's school but at Mimi's school they have what is called "Zero Hour". It is where the child goes to school one hour before school or stays one hour after school for one day a week. The classes that applied to Mimi is art, math and reading. I signed her up for all three classes and she got into all three classes. Because so many kids want to get into these classes the lists of names is quite long and I understand that many kids are on a waiting list.

Up till now I have not told any of my friends about Mimi getting into all three classes as I am not sure who signed up or who made it into what class. This is one reason why I keep up our blog. Can't say too much on facebook as we live in a small town (14,000 people) where everybody knows everybody. As much as I love our town, there has been a couple of incidences where Mimi was invited to someone's house for a party or playdate and another one of her friends were not invited even though they knew the person who invited Mimi and then feelings get hurt.

SIGNS

Sign, sign everywhere is signs...... at least that is the way the song goes. Mimi has always loved books thank goodness and ever since she learned to write in pre-school she has been a writing everywhere. This year she discovered post-its. Now our house is full of them.
I think that it really pays to have a friends like Blake that loves to play the computer. Of course I am not biased but I do really think that Mimi is quite bright when it comes to doing stuff on the computer. I must say that it is quite sad when on Fridays and I go to volunteer in the computer lab and I am supposed to help the other students with Microsoft and I don't know what I am doing, I have to ask Mimi to show me. She is a whiz at it. Right now they are learning how to make the various shapes and sizes, making pictures and coloring them in and so on and so forth.
At night before going to bed she loves to get on the computer and do the kidzui, or storytelling online or starfall. These are the times when she tells dad that she does not want a bedtime story so instead they will read on the computer.

HARRY POTTER WII

I bought dad a Harry Potter Wii game for our anniversary this year. Yesterday I caught dad trying it out and later on I found Mimi making a character for Allyn. This is not the finished product though. At least he will be ready by the nextime they come for a visit.

BIRTHDAY PARTY

Today was Rianna's 3rd birthday party and we were only able to catch the tail end of it. Then when it was finished (around 2:00) Mimi went over to Blake's for a while. In the meantime dad and I went down to Costco to get my early Christmas present. It is a mini foosball table where the tabletop can be removed in order to play foosball or the top can be inverted to play cards. Then when not playing any games the tabletop becomes a nice coffeetable. Our first coffetable after 14 years of marriage. I love my husband with all of my heart.

On our way home we stoppedy by Blake's house and Keri had all of the kids helping her rake up the leaves in her front yard. We now have a whole bunch of them. Then around 4:30 I called for Mimi to come home. I could hear Blake whine in the background. Keri's says that I ruined their lives by calling Mimi home. When I asked Mimi what she did at Blake's, she looks at me wide eyed like duh mom "I played the WHOLE TIME WITH BAILEY! Blake did not get a chance to play with me!" Hence the whinning from Blake. Oh well que sera sera. I'm sure the boy will survive.

FLY ME TO THE MOON

Around 8:30 pm the streets were almost quiet. We had spent about 2 hours trick or treating. Mimi did come back with some candy but not as much as her friends and that is okey dokey with us. Fortunately she is still not crazy about candy. She does however like tootsie rolls or ring pops and that's about it. She just has more fun being out there with her friends.

When we got home it was time to just relax with a good movie and that is just what we did.
