ESPARZA'S

The other day while sitting in the cold watching Mimi practice t-ball, I was thinking about our upcoming trip to Portland and since I am not an Oregonian, I had no idea where to go to eat Neither did our friends. Then all of a sudden what comes on into my head you say??? A light bulb!!! Ding, ding, ding! Princess Teri! She's been to Oregon and loves food as much as we do! YEAH! So I wrote to her and she said to go to Esparaza's. So we did and it was a hit with everyone. Thank you Princess Teri! Of course no Mexican meal is complete without a glass of cold margarita with a shot of Don Julio.

MAN CAVE

We arrived in Portland around 11:30 last night and hooked up with our good friend Maggi and her cousin Sarah early this afternoon at Sarah and Duane. Here we are sitting and playing cards un Duane's "man cave" Mimi is the dealer but unfortunately we could not show her the cards as they were of the porno nature. However she had loads of fun just playing with the chips

SIGNING OFF

In a couple of hours the Putney's will be on their way down to Portland Oregon. Will try out the places to eat that Princess Teri suggested. They sound delicious already. Will report everything that happens this weekend. Can't wait to head out of Dodge.

MIMI THE TIME KEEPER

Yesterday morning while shopping at Fred Meyer's for a coin purse to keep her tooth fairy money in, Mimi reminded me that I had promised her a watch on a previous shopping trip. Gawd how that child has a memory like you would not believe. We were also shopping for Erin's birthday gift too and since the watches were on sale for $7.00 a piece, we bought two. A princess one for Erin and Hannah Montana for Mimi (although she has yet to see the show). I am paying for it now. All day today Mimi has been telling me the time, every half hour on the hour. EGADS!!!

HEALTH CHECK UPDATE

This morning Mimi had her 6 year physical with Dr. M. She did grrreat! What a little trooper she is! Her height is 44 1/2 inches and her weight is 41 lbs which puts her in the 25%. Although it is on the petite side, that is normal for her. There is no doubt about it, she will always be petite even though she is growing and gaining weight at a slow and steady rate going upwards. The doctor said that she does not need another physical for another 2 years and her immunizations are not due till she gets to be 11 years old. However the doctor did give Mimi the option of getting flu shot today and of course Mimi was vigorously shaking her head NO. We chose not to since she is as healthy as all get out.

PRECIOUS MOMENTS

After playing in the snow, I had Mimi take a hot bath. This is what she looked like when she came downstairs as I was preparing dinner. Besides running around the house (still never walks), she likes to bounce everywhere. The bouncy ball is one of the best $10.00 I have ever spent.

MORE FUN IN THE SNOW

When school was done and playtime at Zoe's was over, Mimi as usual still had energy to burn. Almost all of the snow had melted in our neighborhood except for the houses on our street. It is just the way our house situated. We still quite a bit of snow in our backyard so of course Mimi and Butch had to play in it. Eating it wasn't too bad either. By tomorrow this will all be slush and ice.
