CHASING AND CHEWING

Butch has now been a part of our lives for one and a half months. Between him and Mimi and her friends, there is never ever and dull moment around the Putney household. Butch is now still at the chewing stage of his little life. He will come out of Mimi's room with any number of her stuffed toys. Pictured here is Butch chewing on one of Blake's shoes. His other favorite past time is chasing his tail and anything else he can sink his teeth into including mom's toes. Ummmm Yummy and Tasty too!!!

GALLOPING

To this day Mimi has not stopped running. Although inside the house it has turned into a gallop. She does however eat quite a bit. On Thanksgiving day she had 5 servings of turkey, stuffing and gravy. Then everyday after, she still had to eat more turkey. Mom has not weighed her in quite a while but she did today. Mimi weighs all of 40 lbs. She's a solid little thing. She is still very active with gymnastics and running/galloping everywhere. People always tell me that they wish that they had at least half the energy Mimi does. Maybe that is why Mimi stays so slender. Now that soccer is over, Keri and mom are looking into signing the kids up for t-ball. Have to do something with all that energy.

THE SANTA TRAIN

Yesterday was mom's beautification day (hair dresser and nail salon). Fortunately we live very close to both shops so that mom could take Mimi to see Maya (beautician) in the morning, then take her to school and come back to visit with Amy (Maya's sister) and get a pedicure at her nearby nail salon. All of the girls in both shops adore Mimi and she adores them too.

As soon as school let out, all of Mimi's friends and herself headed over to Zoe's for an afternoon playdate. That's when mom found out from Shelley about the Santa Train http://trainmuseum.org/santatrain.asp#Dates in Snoqualimie. Looks and sounds pretty cool. Talked with dad about it and he found out that the tickets are sold out. Doggone it! Oh well, at least we will have something to do next year Christmas. Found out from Shelley this afternoon that the membership tickets are $55.00 per family and they give you 10 tickets to use during their open season. Not a bad deal at all. The Santa train tickets alone are $15.00 per person. Then during the summertime they have a Thomas The Train event going on. Mimi still enjoys playing with her Thomas train set.

A COPPERTONE MOMENT

ALL IN THE FAMILY

Both dad and Mimi had a full day today. Dad has his work and Mimi had her piano lesson this morning followed by school and gymnastic class. When dad arrived home from work at 7:00 this evening, Mimi ran and jumped into his arms and gave dad the biggest and bestest welcome home kiss one has ever had. That always makes your day brighter especially after you had a long day at work. Mimi decided that she wanted to eat leftover turkey and watch an oldie but goodie tv cartoon that mom watched when she was Mimi's age with her dad. Another perfect ending for the day.

WHERE'S BUTCH?????

This afternoon while Mimi was in school, mom decided to get the baby's room ready for our out of town guests that will be coming to visit with us at Christmas. Since this past summer the weather was sooooo nice, mom just took all of Mimi's clothes that don't fit and tossed them in the baby's room. Now she has the incentive to sort through all of them and store them away for our next little chili pepper that will be coming who knows when at the rate that things are going now.

Butch was no help to mom in all of this sorting process. The more mom tried to work, the more Butch wanted to play and kept stealing the clothes out of mom's hands the littte thief. Finally mom had enough of this and put him in the baby crib. You would of thought that I threw him in jail by the way he yelped and yelped until mom noticed how quiet things got and this is what she found. The little thief had yelped so much that he finally got tired and just plain passed out till it was time to go pick Mimi up from school and head over to the gym for her gymnastic class. It was hard to believe that at 3:30 p.m. (pick up time) today, that it was darn near pitch black outside. The sunlight season changes are still taking some time for mom to get used too. During the summer solstice season it is light about 90% of the time and then during the winter season it is dark 90% of the time.

FATHER/DAUGHTER DAY

This morning mom had a ESD meeting to go to and again asked Mimi if she wanted to go with her "Maauum (mom) (sigh), I told you yesterday that I want to stay home!" "I want to have a pajama day" so the girl says. So while mom was out at the ESD meeting and doing her monthly shopping at Uwajimaya market in downtown Seattle, Mimi stayed home with dad. Of course you guessed it, our adopted son Blake came over to play for the afternoon. He and Mimi always have a blast together. Meanwhile dad was putting up the Christmas lights on the house like he promised Mimi that he would do and she lovingly tells him "dad, this is our father / daughter day isn't it?" Kinda warmend his heart when she said that.
