FATHER AND SON

Yesterday papa finished putting the gazebo together. This afternoon he started on the backyard swing. While papa getting it together grandma and grandpa stopped by for dinner. Grandpa absolutely loves doing home projects, so here he is helping papa out.
According to papa, Mimi had told him this morning that if he finished with the swing today, she will be so proud of him. Imagine that!!!

PAPA'S LITTLE HELPER

Today papa decided that he did not want to go to the Chinese class with us. Instead he wanted to stay home and get started on our backyard furniture since the weather is somewhat decent. It is kind of a overcast day with no rain until probably later this afternoon but it is the only chance he gets to get these things done.

On the way home mama and Mimi stopped at Fred Meyer's for the sushi and a few more perrineals that were on sale. Then on the way home it was time to stop for gas at $3.73 per gallon at the Safeway gas station. Because mama has a club card she was able to get $.03 off the gallon sometimes it is $.10 off the gallon. All in all mama paid $34.00 for half a tank today. I like to use the Safeway gas station because I can get mileage points off of my club card along with the Visa.

Upon arriving home we saw papa talking with Jess and Krista who were walking their dogs. We found out that Krista's little boy Xaunder is sick again with the same Rotavirus. First Xaunder caught the virus then gave it to little sis and caught it again from little sis. Now Shaun (papa) caught the bug also. Man! That virus is a real stinker!!!

Papa has started to put up the gazebo so naturally Mimi assumed her usual supervisory position.

Another bit of news is that we have new neighbors as of last Tuesday. Mama met them just once for a few short seconds a couple of weeks ago when the house was being inspected by the home inspection people. Our new neighbors are a man and woman couple with NO KIDS doggone it. I was kind of hoping they would have kids close to Mimi's age. Our neighborhood has a ton of kids but unfortunately not a lot of them are Mimi's age. They are either way older or way younger than she is. At 5 years old, even if the other person is 2 years older or 2 years younger, it makes a big difference. The kids that are 2 years older than Mimi are nice and friendly toward her but they rather play with kids their own age and have their own little clique. The kids that are 2 years younger than Mimi, our Mimi is friendly toward them but does not have much interest in them. Oh well, I guess we will have to wait to see what will happen when the next chili pepper comes along and how well Mimi will get along with her mei mei.

THE ROCK

Can you smell L L L ... the Rock? That's for all you wrestling fans out there.

Tonight we tried out this pizzaria in Covington called The Rock. It's a cross between Hard Rock Cafe and California Pizza Kitchen. Buffalo wings were ok, drinks were good and the pizza was very, very good. The best around our town.

SAFETY FIRST

Our Mimi is a safety girl. This morning Mimi wanted to take her "children" to the indoor playground to which mama said ok. When that was over we went to Walgreen's to make passport pictures for our passport renewal. Then it was time for school. Mama always keeps an extra carseat in her car in case Blake wants to ride with us anywhere. After dropping Mimi off, mama noticed Baby Jaguar, Mr Giraffe and Pinky Pie strapped in the car seat. Mama had a good laugh to herself and just had to take a picture.

PRESENT FOR DISNEY SAMANTHA, KATIE AND NAOMI

There are a gazillion of these wild flowers growing here in western Washington. This morning after playing at the indoor playground Mimi decided to pick these flowers for her long time Disney friends.
Mimi: Mama, I have a surprise for you (hands are behind her back)
Mama: What is it?
Mimi: Close your eyes.
Mama: What is it?
Mimi: These! This is for my Disney Samantha, Katie and Naomi!!! They live far away.
Almost everynight papa shows Mimi on her map where all of her California friends live.

SWIMMING LESSONS

Mimi absolutely loves her swimming lessons. Ms Gretchen is a great teacher but unfortunately Kinderswim is quite costly as opposed to the aquatic center which is only half the price of kinderswim. Mama found out a bit too late. So for the remainder of this month of May we will finish out with kinderswim then starting next month we will move on to the aquatic center.

TWO COOL CHICKS

This picture was taken upon arriving at Kinderswim. Mimi was listening to none other than Alvin and the Chipmunks on the way there and had to put on her "rockstar" glasses.
By accident mama found out that her camera also takes videos without the sound. Unfortunately mama has not quite figured out how to put it on the blog. Doggone it!!! Oh well, I guess I'll just have to wait till papa gets home so that he can explain it to this computer dummy.
