MORE UPDATE ON THE PUTNEY'S
Arrived home from California this past Tuesday night. It was one long week last week. Mimi's grandpa had passed away unexpectedly. The viewing was on Friday(Mimi had stayed at home with mama's friend Sandra), Sunday was the funeral and Tuesday morning he was interned at the Riverside Veteran Memorial Cemetary.
Due to this unexpected event, our furniture will not come until next Wednesday. In the meantime we are camping out in our new home. The cats Ollie and Stanley are already settled into their new environment. Mama on the other hand is still getting used to the weather and the fact that it is still bright sunlight at 9:00 at night.
Will post pictures tomorrow when I can sit at a desk.

UPDATE ON THE PUTNEY'S
Well we finally arrived at grandma's and grandpa's a week ago last Saturday after a four day car trip. Mimi and the cats did just great. Mama survived four days of Lilo and Stitch. I now have Elvis coming out of my ears! Mimi just loves her grandma and grandpa and has them wrapped around her little finger.
Last Monday we signed the papers, the house is now ours! Later that night we all (us and a co-worker and family) had sushi at this little place in Greenlake, in Seattle. Mama is now starting to have withdrawl symptoms. I am really starting to miss my Japanese, Mexican and Thai food.
On a more somber note, mama's dad passed away (due to cancer)this past Tuesday. We are now down here in Long Beach staying with a our good friend Sandra. Tomorrow will be the viewing and next Monday the memorial service then on Tuesday, he will be interned at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetary in Riverside. On Tuesday night, we will be flying back up to Seattle.
Due to this unexpected event, we have had to hold off on moving our furniture. It was suppossed to arrive this weekend but is now changed till next weekend. Therefore we will be camping out in our new home. On the bright side, it will give our cats Ollie and Stanley a chance to get used to their new surroundings. As of now they are limited to staying in mama's SUV. At night we have been taking them out for a walk on a leash. You should see the strange looks we get from grandma's neighbors.
Will post the pictures at a later date when we get all set up at our new home.

We're Off To Seattle
Ready or not moving day arrived. The movers came on Tuesday. Mimi assumed responsibility for supervising the movers (telling people what to do is one of her more prominent talents).
The task of keeping Mimi and Ollie and Stanley (the feline members of the family) out of the movers way proved too daunting for Mama. She took Mimi and had one last lunch with our friend Maggie at Pacos, our favorite Mexican restaraunt. Papa stayed and braved the whirlwind of keeping up with the movers. At the end of the day an exhausted Putney family camped out for the night on our bedroom floor.
Wednesday morning a still exhausted Mama and Papa cleaned the house. If we ever suffer from temperary insanity and do this again we will hire a house cleaner. Finally in the afternoon we bid our farewells to our home and departed LA. We drove to Santa Barbara and had dinner at Woody's with our good friends the Berris's. Mimi taught Katie the sublime art of giving zerbits.
Thursday we drove up the 101 to the bay area through wine country. I felt like I was driving through one of the pictures on those old fashioned fruit crates. We had a Chinese dinner at East Ocean Seafood with Rose, who we met in China, and her husband Tom.

And we stayed spent the night with the Hayes's: Jeff , Teresa, Julian and Mei Ling, who we also met in China. Mimi and Mei Ling hit it off like they had been sisters for eons.
Friday we drove to Ashland, Oregon where I now sit in a hotel room chronicalizing our trip for prosperity. Here's Moma and Mimi with Mt. Shasta in the background.
Beautiful Mt. Shasta.
